I was pretty fortunate to be exposed to adoption (open, private) at a young age, but I always think it's a Best Practice to get knee-deep with education in new situatuons.
I've been trolling adoption blogs and forums for a long time, but on a recent trip to a bookstore, I picked up a book that is extremely helpful and includes all kinds of adoption information: family adoption, open, closed, agency, International, domestic, etc. There are even adoption ad examples, birthmother letter samples, and portfolio advice for adoptive couples.
