Nursery: Stage One

A lot of soul searching is to be done by adoptive parents during the wait for baby.

Do we tell anyone?
Do we share the name we have picked?
How do we explain the uncertainties of adoption?

Do we set up a nursery?

Because an adoption is never a sure thing until the paperwork is signed, it can be very stressful to think of setting up a nursery and then having to face it every day if it falls thru.

We decided to prepare our nursery even with the uncertainty, because frankly, there are so many things we'll miss out on. We wanted to enjoy some of the "fun stuff." We have faith that it will all work out.

Our nursery is painted a deep mustardy yellow, a color carried throughout our house. We've chosen to bring in some orange, khaki, brown, and a few other accent colors for an eclectic look. We have a special fondness for lions, so we'll definitely have those.

We have a long way to go in transitioning my home office into a quiet sanctuary for Riley, but we're getting there!
